Our Vision

FibraHotel is committed to achieving a sustainable environment for all of its operations. This commitment is based on a program that allows us to add value and profitability to our portfolio and mitigate risks in the medium and long term. With the help of our operators, we have been able to identify opportunities on developmental sustainability and ecological practices that reduce our environmental impact and help us to improve efficiency in the operational expenditure, therefore, foster profitability amongst our investors.

FibraHotel is establishing clear objectives on reducing environmental impact, conducting our investments responsibly, and being able to keep our sustainable growth in our portfolio in the future, as well as its social impact. We are dedicated to implementing and utilizing clean energies that will help us reduce environmental our footprint, as well as expenditures on energetic issues, reflecting in a better and more efficient portfolio, that allow us to deliver better and more sustainable performance. We are conscious about the challenge and are committed to our planet in giving back what corresponds in order to significantly diminish our environmental impact and improve living conditions for future generations.

Inversión Responsable

FibraHotel has always considered sustainable investment alternatives in its decision making process in an informal way. Having the opportunity to set a proper policy for the portfolio will allow for additional efficiencies and clarity. As of the date of this annual report, we are in the process of developing a sustainable investment policy which will allow us to have a more efficient portfolio, reduce and mitigate risks, as well as to have long term viability as a company and improve the social impact. As such, we intend to partner with local and regional foundations and community organizations to support environmental initiatives, educational practices and social engagement across the different regions where we are present.

We believe that these policies will increase our profits, reduce operating costs, increase the satisfaction of our guests, and add value to our investors. Currently, as part of our investment process we do diligence on legal, environmental, financial and fiscal issues, among others and as part of this diligence we define any risk in the investment which is considered in the respective committees and governing bodies.

At FibraHotel we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our hotels by:

Decreasing water consumption
Reducing the consumption of Electric Power
Migrate to clean energies.

We currently have certain practices that seek to comply with environmental standards and processes such as:

Water use savers
Limit the use of electricity in lighting
Use of presence sensors to limit energy usage
System to monitor machine room to reduce the use of air conditioning
Glasses with thermal specifications
LP gas migration to natural gas.

Awards and Recognitions

Today, more than 70 of our hotels have Green Key certification, which is a leading standard for excellence in the field of sustainability. This certification represents a commitment showing that our premises adhere with strict international standards set by the Foundation for Environmental Education.

Fiesta Americana Satélite hotel and AC by Marriott in Veracruz have the EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) certification. EDGE certification is a green building system for emerging markets. To meet the standard, it is necessary to comply with a minimum of 20% less energy, water and embodied energy in materials. It is worth mentioning that it is only applicable to new constructions.

Also, many of our hotels have the Tourism Environmental Quality Certification. To receive this recognition, it is necessary to demonstrate a reduction of waste, discharges, emissions and consumption of energy, fuels and water, with the consequent reduction in pressure on natural resources and systems, as well as in the improvement of environmental quality. This certificate is granted by PROFEPA (Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection). Similarly, Fiesta Americana Monterrey M, Fiesta Inn Periférico Sur, and Fiesta Inn Tlalnepantla properties have the distinction of Sustainable Hydro Hotels for performance in the efficient use of water.

Ethics Code

At FibraHotel we have an Ethics Code, which we consider a structural basis for the behavior of employees in our company. We seek the adoption of values, mission and organizational vision, to build an alignment of what should be done and not done in the organization. We have put a lot of emphasis on the respect and professionalism of our collaborators.

An integral implementation of this code will allow us a better focus as an organization as well as a substantial improvement in the perception of people outside the company, and at the same time a satisfying work environment.

Additionally, the operating companies have their different education and development programs. Grupo Posadas through the Posadas Foundation, has a program called "An Opportunity to Study", which consists of granting scholarships for students of all school levels that cover the following levels: primary, middle school, high school, undergraduate and graduate careers. Internally at FibraHotel, we have major medical insurance for all our employees.

Materiality

During 2019 FibraHotel aims to finish a materiality assessment which will allow us to better understand the most significant parameters that we will have to address and report in a corresponding future. With the results of the assessment we will expand our landscape and interests in sustainability.

In addition, the result of our materiality will give us the necessary knowledge so that, with the collaboration of all the parties involved, we will have a continuous improvement during the following years.
